The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) proudly presents the Saudi debut of Georges Bizet’s globally acclaimed opera Carmen, performed by the China National Opera House (CNOH). This special event marks one of the standout highlights of the 2025 China–Saudi Arabia Cultural Year, celebrating three and a half decades of bilateral cooperation.
Premiered in 1875, Carmen has become one of the most beloved operas ever staged, telling a passionate tale of freedom, desire, and tragedy. Its central story follows Carmen, a charismatic gypsy woman, and Don José, a soldier drawn into an intense and ultimately fatal love affair.
By bringing this world-class production to Riyadh, RCRC reinforces its commitment to expanding cultural horizons, enhancing the capital’s international standing, and aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives to promote arts and creativity on a global scale.
