Fertiglobe, a leading fertiliser firm headquartered in Abu Dhabi, posted a net profit of $20.2 million for the second quarter of 2025—up 41.3% from the $14.3 million reported in the same period last year, the company’s financial report revealed.

    Financial Summary

The second-quarter results aligned with analysts’ average projection of $20 million, as per LSEG data. Quarterly revenue rose to $566 million, a 14% increase from $496 million in Q2 2024.

Despite strong quarterly performance, first-half net income dropped 29% year-on-year to $92.8 million, down from $131 million—an outcome influenced by a one-time FX gain of $81 million recorded in the prior year. First-half revenues rose by 20% to $1.26 billion.

Sales volumes of own-produced goods declined 10% during the second quarter, though the year-to-date drop was limited to just 1%.

Recognised as the world’s top seaborne exporter of combined urea and ammonia, Fertiglobe is also a key player in green ammonia initiatives. With an annual output capacity of 6.6 million tonnes, the company operates across the UAE, Egypt, and Algeria.

Fertiglobe is ranked 96th on Forbes Middle East’s 2025 Top 100 Listed Companies list, and CEO Ahmed El-Hoshy is listed sixth on Forbes’ 2024 Sustainability Leaders ranking.

    Dividends and Future Outlook

The board has proposed a first-half dividend of no less than $100 million or 4.4 fils per share.

“This quarter demonstrated Fertiglobe’s growing operational resilience, with an adjusted EBITDA increase of 26% Y-o-Y,” El-Hoshy commented.

“Fertiglobe remains strategically placed to deliver robust performance and maintain operational continuity amid challenging conditions,” he continued.

    Asia-Pacific Expansion

In April, Fertiglobe signed an agreement to acquire Wengfu Australia’s distribution assets. This acquisition is set to enhance the company’s reach within the Australian market and strengthen its expansion in the Asia-Pacific region.

The deal is expected to increase earnings per share by 2.8% in 2026 and 4.1% in 2027, prior to the integration of any synergy benefits.
